Quadra: The Classic String Synthesizer
Quadra is a virtual instrument that beautifully reproduces the classic string ensemble instruments of the 70s. It features:
- A rich string section with a dedicated two-band EQ and improved arpeggiator section with tempo sync
- A precisely replicated phase shifter with multiple mod sources
- Over 400 presets programmed by industry veterans
- Available in VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats
- A tempo-syncable LFO
Quadra is compatible with Windows 7 or above (including Windows 11) and requires a 64-bit system. A 3.4 GHz Quad-Core or M1 CPU with 8GB of RAM is recommended. It offers full MIDI control and DAW automation for all controls, and each of its four sections can be independently assigned to any region of the keyboard for flexible splitting and layering. The multi-out version allows separate processing of each instrument section. The overall sound quality has been improved for a richer and fatter tone.
A Super-Accurate Emulation of the ARP Quadra Synthesizer
Quadra is a super-accurate and improved emulation of the ARP Quadra synthesizer, originally released in 1978. It includes:
- A user-adjustable oversampling control
- An accurately emulated “Touch Sensor” aftertouch section
- A fat, monophonic bass section for punchy low end, plus “Strings Bass” for string machine-style orchestral richness
- A flexible poly synthesizer with saw, variable pulse, “spike,” and “hollow” waveforms, expanded range, and a drift button for organic tone
- A stereo chorus/flanger, syncable echo, and studio-quality reverb that are individually routable for unprecedented effects flexibility
Quadra is available in AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and standalone formats and requires a 64-bit system. A quad-core computer with 8GB of RAM is recommended. The poly synthesizer includes a Drift control for increased analog realism, and all four sections are superbly recreated. The patch storage system has been replaced with Cherry Audio’s extensive, unlimited patch browsing system, and the coding has been highly optimized for high performance with ultra-low CPU load. Quadra is also compatible with macOS 13 Ventura and supports native Apple M1 processors, including the M1 Ultra.
